Speaker 1: There are three basic types of probate proceedings. One is called disposition of property without administration. That would be an instance where there's a very small sum of money and it does not exceed the cost of the funeral and the last bills for medical payments.
The next one would be a summary administration, and that can be used if the person has been dead for two years or if the estate is not worth more than $75,000.
The last one, formal administration, is the type of probate that is more generally done. And that's because if you have real property, you need to do that kind of a probate so that you can file a notice to creditors and make sure that the property is going to pass free and clear.
